Kamila Trails

The project

A path you can read

Kamila Trails is the digital half of the signposted paths above Neochori, on the slopes of Mount Holomontas in Halkidiki. The municipality marks the routes on the ground — this site makes each sign talk.

The sign is the app

Every checkpoint along the trail carries a QR code. Scan it and your phone shows exactly where you stand: your altitude, your progress, the distance to the next sign and to the finish. No app store, no account — the board on the path and the page on your screen are one product.

One palette, on board and screen

The colours of this site are lifted directly from the printed trail boards: deep forest greens, warm paper, and a single orange reserved for the route line. What you recognise on the mountain, you recognise on your phone.

Measured, not estimated

Distances, climbs and the elevation profile are computed from the recorded GPS track of each route — the same file the trail crew works with. When the ground changes, the page changes.

Who is behind it

The trail network is a project of the Municipality of Aristotelis, built and maintained together with local volunteers — the people who clear, mark and walk these paths all year round.
